End of School Update 4-13-24
Greenback Family,
This is a note to announce a significant end-of-year scheduling change meant to accommodate our construction projects and associated moves.
We will make the last day of school for PreK-11th grade students May 17th. May 17th will be a full day of school with release at 3:30. Seniors will be released on May 14th—this will also be a full day of school and the last day of finals for our Seniors.
The early release will allow us to use staff to pack and stage our furniture and materials for moving into the new PreK center and the 4th & 5th grade classrooms at the Pratt Academic Center (PAC). These days will also allow us to do some vertical curriculum alignment with our teaching staff. We often find it challenging to devote enough time to some of the professional development and strategic planning teams that require cross-building collaboration.
The construction projects are going well. We look forward to scheduling and hosting some open house times in August for people to see the classrooms and facilities. We are fortunate to be in a wonderful community, which supports our efforts to provide a world class education for our kids. I believe this will prove to be a great long-term investment for our school district and community.
