Liberty Middle School Activities Overview

Ron Hill, Activities Director

Students at Liberty Middle School have a wide range of activities to choose from throughout the school year.  Seventh and eighth graders in good standing academically and behaviorally are eligible to participate in inter-scholastic activities.  At Liberty, the activities offered are: Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, Basketball, Wrestling, Track, Cheer, and Scholars’ Bowl.  Our teams compete primarily in the Central Kansas League, which is a ten team league with a common philosophy of clean, fair, wholesome, and healthy competition.

Seventh and eighth graders enrolled in Band may audition in the fall for the LMS Color Guard, a flag performance group affiliated with marching band.  Both Band and Vocal students compete annually in the CKL Music Festival.

Students in grades six through eight can additionally choose from our service organization, Builders Club, which is a service group supervised by a LMS staff member and affiliated with the Pratt Kiwanis Club.  Additionally, LMS offers Art Club, Fellowship of Christian Students, early morning workouts, the middle school play, and talent show each spring, with open tryouts for any interested student.

If you have questions regarding activities at LMS, contact our Activities Director, Ron Hill at 620-672-4530.

Additional Information

Physical/ Concussion Forms
Are required for ALL Middle School students participating in cheerleading, or interscholastic athletics. KSHSAA forms needed for this purpose are available at LMS office.

Insurance
Our schools DO NOT provide accident insurance or pay ambulance service charges for students except to provide limited coverage to students participating in Kansas State High School Activities Association sponsored activities.

Optional school insurance may be purchased by parents for their children each year. Since the cost of the insurance is quite low, it is suggested that parents give consideration to this program.

Insurance information is available at the District Office and at enrollment or available at any attendance center.
